For BLUE: Mentally slide from 6 to 4 gives 10 checker symmetry around 6 point + midpoint plus two stragglers

(10 X 6 + 2) + (40 - 1) + (40 + 2)

For WHITE: inner board plus 3 on 8 point plus 10 point plus 3 on mid plus 2 stragglers:

2(6+3+1) + 24 + 10 + (40 - 1) + (40 + 5)
