There are many numbers that already have a fixed position in my mind and a way I used to remember the first count was to convert that number into something I wouldn't forget. I may forget "111" as a number, but once I've counted to 111 and converted it to "oh, my count is the shit house in bowling" there's no way I could forget it.

It depends how many things you know including numbers for this to be any help to you, and the lower counts are easier to assign a special name than the higher ones. 33 - Larry Bird, 42 - Jackie Robinson, 80 - my other cousin, Jerry Rice, etc. Baseball & basketball are best for the smaller numbers, but the smaller numbers are so small you could simply recount the position also. Football jersey numbers will help up to 99 if you know your football, after that you may have to do some manoeuvring of your own. (but a standard $100 SnG buyin is 100+9! lol)
