You convinced me to change filter settings from default once. It can help to catch more relevant moves than default and will not take more time.

I am surprised how high your settings for doubtful, bad and very bad moves are. Well, for bad and very bad moves are not so important but if you put doubtful to be -.030 GNUbg will not mark all moves which are below such border in green colour.

But what is most important for me is your setting for checker play. 3 ply instead 2ply. It is no question about speed. Both setting run pretty fast (we are not talking here for checker play setting within rollouts, off course). Usual practice here was to analyze with 2/2 ply because of odd effects. But after Matt's rollouts it seems that 3ply is better.

Can you explain a little bit more when you think 3ply is better than 2ply for checker play? And when is 2ply, if at all? In which kind of positions. And do you feel that 3ply get strange equities and error magnitude if you compare it with 2ply regarding rollouts results?

And at last, please Neil can you also tell us for which positions 3-ply is better than 2ply for cube? Is this only in holding games (and in which stages) or in backgames also?

Thanks
