There was some irony/hypocrisy on the Casey Martin case, IMO. Some (huge name) senior pros were against him yet the PGA Senior Tour already allowed carts (and still does, I believe). Of course it's only a hypocrisy (IMO) if those particular pros used carts themselves. If they opposed the Senior PGA tour rule AND chose to walk at Senior events, only then do their opinions carry weight.

If you believe in something enough to go public, you should be willing to accept an absolute disadvantage to defend your beliefs. Saying "well, I'm against it but if I don't allow myself to use the rule as written then I'm putting myself at a disadvantage WRT the rest of the field" is weak, IMO.

Yes, there is at least one BG rule analogy, as I'm sure most have or will now recognize.
