Purchased in June (total cost around $1k, not including shipping):
Q9450 (was clocked at 3.55Ghz, had to clock it back to 3.36Ghz for stability)
I love this chip and what it's done for me, but honestly if I had to do it again I'd save my cash and go with the Q6600. It will probably overclock to nearly 3Ghz anyway.4GB Crucial Dominator DDR2 1066Mhz RAM
The RAM is a solid performer. The fan doesn't work and is not installed, but it keeps up with my o/cing.Abit IP35 Pro mobo
Eh. This is a pretty decent mobo, but there are better ones out there. Abit is no longer the O/Cer's dream that it once was. I was a little disappointed here, and I think I could have squeezed a lot more out of my chip with a different mobo. I would go with DFI or Gigabyte, probably, and I'd consider Intel. Of course there are some better chipsets compared with the P35 these days.GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB
I also love this vid card, but I figure most of the posters wouldn't get as much out of it. All my games run perfectly smoothly--I don't play Crysis. If you're going to buy a card that's more expensive than this you should consider what you are planning on using it for.Xigmatek HDT-S1283
This cooler is fantastic. The best I've ever used, far better than my old Zalmans. The CPU cooling is definitely not an issue, even if I push it as far as it will go.750GB SATA HD
Storage is cheap, do whatever you want here. 1TB is probably affordable, or you could just opt for 250GB, or RAID, whatever.Antec 900 case
Case is likewise very awesome. Don't know whether BG players would like this case or not. It has around 27 fans, a side panel, and a bunch of LEDs. The LEDs are the only thing that kind of annoy me. The inside is extremely easy to work with and it gets good airflow.LiteOn 20X DVD-RW
Don't feel strongly about this.OCZ Freeze
I like this better than Arctic Silver 5. It's nonconductive and seems to work as well as AS5 ever did.OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU
This was way over the top but I got it at a steal at the time. 400-500W is probably sufficient for my parts.
