I will go with the HP system you recommended. I would need to have definate early October date to justify waiting for a significant improvement and that's not available apparently.

I need 24/7 support and it seems HP is OK in this respect. That's the reason I can't have anyone build for me.

Performance/cost optimization isn't a top priority and I will go with the specs you included for HP.

i have Vista on my laptop and have not had any issues using Snowie.

I am particulary grateful to you and I thank all of the other contributors as well.
