I think you're supposed to go after an advanced anchor from the get-go when playing Nackgammon. This was an OK roll for that gameplan. Maybe my play is too loose, given Stick's attacking chances. But he has one less direct builder than in normal BG and often spreading out the back checkers is right there, so it makes sense to me here.

An interesting question is this: "is 13/8 better or worse than normal?" On the one hand you're starting with fewer on the middie, but on the other hand you are also starting with fewer in the zone.
