What's your opinion on the $700bn bill?

The bill is largely misunderstood and misreported. Most people seem to look at it as a $700 billion gift to Wall Street speculators who took foolish risks, a notion that is unpopular for obvious reasons. Perhaps this impression is the fault of people who did a bad job advocating for the bill.

In any event, since it's one month before an election, a lot of politicians are going to base their vote on what the public thinks it says rather than what it actually says, out of pure self-interest. That's to be expected.
