As a non American using the word Depression may suggest I am anti-american, and an overzealous alarmist. The world can't afford the US to be in a depression. Maybe I have to chalk it up to wishful thinking.

Bailout or no Bailout (I use the word Bailout loosely since I think it is an incorrect moniker for the legislation) - the American economy is in decline. Government intervention will likely only delay the inevitable.
