My thought recognizes the fact that when a majority of the voting citizenry pays no taxes (and we're currently at about 47%) and, thus, in my opinion, has no vested interest in the country -- only a selfish interest in keeping the handouts coming, then the whole country is in serious trouble of collapse. They can vote to increase taxes at will with no immediate impact to themselves -- and they are generally far too ignorant and too short-sighted to recognize the ultimate effect.

Our 'politicians' (as we have no elected leaders or representatives), of either party, have done, and are doing, excellently in their pandering and purchasing of the votes of the dependent masses. The day will come, it is not far away, I pity us all.
