Yes, there were attempts at reform from the GOP but doggone it, it should have been a louder warning.
I agree that the many warnings were lost in the daily/weekly/monthly noise of government noise.
Which is yet another argument in favor of limited government. When the government (or a single person) does only a small number of things at once, it is far likelier to excel at, or at least be competent at, those few tasks at which it is doing than if it was trying to juggle such a wide array of things that it is impossible for anyone to even keep track of.
Big government means bad news gets lost in the shuffle. Small government means that everyone knows when the current government is getting a particular task wrong, and is therefore more likely to be held accountable for its mistakes/malfeasance.
Vote Libertarian in November. Everything else is a vote for the Republicrat Party, or is it Demoblican Party? I have a hard time telling the two apart.
