In Response To: the question is (Daniel Murphy)

Mr. Murphy (I do not care to be more familiar) --

True, you didn't ask for a personal attack; however, I regard you as a personal attack -- to our country, our culture, our traditions, and our way of life. Thus, I feel my response justified. Your posts are consistent with stories I've been told of you.

We can quibble forever over statistics but the simple fact is that, over the last few decades, a decreasingly small number of Americans support, and have supported, an increasingly large number of the remainder of Americans. That cannot be denied. Unfortunately, a sense of entitlement is pervasive and far too many Americans have lived far beyond their means via liberal government programs and easy credit -- thus creating the financial crisis we're in today. Further, those irresponsible individuals, devoid of pride and/or shame, are then often the very ones taking advantage of bankruptcy laws and other assistance to additionally, selfishly take advantage of the generosity of our society. Laws and principles only seem applicable to those recognizing law and principle.

I've disliked and had little respect for liberals and leftists my entire life. If you, and your type, could only be honest and admit that you are socialists, pure and simple, then I might could throw you a small bone of respect. But, alas, the scraps are better saved for my dog. Certainly, there would be little hope of significant political support if true anti-American intentions, objectives, and goals were disclosed. We'll give you credit for the intelligence to know to deceive.

I'll never comprehend why you (I use the term generally) hate and despise the very country, and those productive citizens, that have provided you a rich life of opportunities, freedoms, and comparative luxury (I don't know your particular situation but certainly feel confident of luxury in a comparative sense).

Rather than support those that have made the country great and those that continue to sustain the country, you choose to support those who do not. Again in a general sense, I see you supporting only those who selfishly seek what they can take from our country rather than supporting those who make our country. We should encourage all to be productive and responsible rather than promote a society of entitlement and dependence. That, fundamentally, in my opinion, is where we differ philosophically.

May you harshly suffer the effects of the fate you promote.
