I will prop this against any and all takers.
There are only two options, logically, if you prefer the shorter series. One is that the stronger player somehow stands better in the series with 200 or 400 point tables. I don't have the book here, so I can't say, but since the equity of the longer match seems to be increasing as skill differences increase, I would reason that players are even better off in the longer matches there.
The other is that the JT tables are somehow wrong. Either they underestimate the better player's ME in short matches or they overestimate it in long matches. I haven't done enough study of the JT tables to make any kind of conclusion that way, but I trust Walter, so if I had to bet, I'd bet that they're right.
Everything else should lead to a contradiction.
