Why Are TD's So Resistant?

I would add that clocking all matches would probably require additions to staff which would lead to increased cost and rakes. In Peoria, Linda and her staff spent a large amount of time dealing with the clocks on less than 10 matches total. They could not have handled clocks on all matches with the staff they had.
I think the people demanding all matches be clocked have lost faith that TDs are to willing clock slow matches aggressively enough to avoid delays. I don't blame anyone for feeling that way. I still feel that we'll have more success letting the TD and staff focus on the problem matches than with an approach that treats slow and fast matches the same. If this is done right, all matches on Saturday should be complete at a reasonable time and no one should have an unreasonable wait for a match unless they are way ahead of schedule on the draw.
The goal is clear and I'm sure we all agree - keep the tournament on schedule at all times.
