Unfortunately, the time control used was the outdated 5 mins pr. point for each player. That was done because it's what's written in the rules. I think we'll get the clock rules changed soon, though, to have Bronstein timing. That was actually the only point being debated beforehand: why not use the clearly better Bronstein time control? I'm saying 'unfortunately', because I actually ended up winning one match on time, and I heard about another one. My own match (a 7 pointer in a warm-up team tournament) progressed by each of us winning one and sometimes two points per game. I noticed that I had about two minutes more time than my opponenet as the match went on, but didn't think it would matter. The games got lengthy, though, and in the crawford game my opponent saw he was in time trouble. I won the crawford, and my opponent went into the DMP-game with less than two minutes remaining. He rolled and moved as fast as he could, but every move takes some seconds to complete, and it became increasingly obvious that it was not possible for him to finish in time. His clock ran out and I won the match, myself having only one minute left, which also would have been unsufficient to finish the game. With Bronstein time controls this would not have happened.
