Why Are TD's So Resistant?

So, Bill,
I presume you would be glad to win a match with Larry Liebster because his time ran out on him?
That is not politically correct drivel. It's respect for your elders...
Larry gives lectures to new players for free, and teaches them some fundamentals of backgammon. Larry almost lost one time v Lucky Nelson, and I hear in Peoria he did lose on TIME. Who beat him, I wonder, does anyone know?
Anyway, imagine some beginner who sees Larry playing and wants to see him in "action" Larry, obviously slower than his opponent, loses on time. His opponent JUMPS up and celebrates his victory...
I think 2 people might decide not to attend the next ABT event. Larry and the beginner. Are YOU going to get up early and lecture the beginners next time, Bill? Is this scenario good for backgammon? Are you glad that Larry got punished for being so slow in Peoria? Do you think that is how it ought to be?
