Maybe it is just time to get RID of the Calcutta auction. Not that many people participate anyway... The biggest losers would be the TD's however, because they derive extra revenue from it.

Is that right? It has been my belief that the rake from the Calcutta always goes (100%) to charity. There was some historical reasoning for this (which may still be true): that Calcuttas, even more so than simple entry fees events, are questionable in terms of gambling laws. The reasoning goes that if you 'wager' on yourself (entry fee event) you have control of the outcome. If you wager on someone else (Calcutta), you don't.

Certainly a gray area and argument. Also, maybe SOME of the Calcutta rake goes to charity but not all. In that case both Ray's contention and mine are consistent with reality.

Directors??
