Oh yeah, DOUBLES totally sucks!

Once two geniuses took from 2 am to 0530 am to finish their semi-final 7 point match at Michigan. Too bad they hit the last ditch shot to WIN the damn thing, so I and my partner were doomed to play them.

Doubles finals were scheduled 2 hours prior to the Open finals that day, yet CJC insisted on instituting a clock in the final match of the doubles... because of what those two well known YAY-whos managed to do the night before, which was keep John Carrico who monitored the match up all NIGHT.

My female partner who paid the entire entry fee got cheated that day, because she was unable to have me narrate the whys and wherefores of our plays to avoid losing time on the clock. It diminished the experience for her, and those BOZOS, again short on time sent over a blunder of a 4 cube to limit the influence of time on our match. Then they rolled out of their ass and won and were just absolutely delighted with themselves.

That match has stuck in my craw for a long time, and I stopped playing doubles for awhile because of it. Was THAT good for backgammon?
