I have thought about using bridge Swiss scoring for backgammon tournaments, but there are some problems.

I think you need to stick to fixed length matches or the cube will get thrown around randomly just to create chances of winning 25-0.

Also if a player gets a good lead then the incentive is to play as slowly as possible to preserve the lead.
