In Response To: Ten Things I Hate About the BG Experience (Stick)

Although I don't love people moving checkers all over the board it doesn't really irk me. I could certainly play with touch move but I'm not going to join a touch move crusade anytime soon. Backgammon is a fast-paced game compared to chess, you could just wind up with a lot more disputes here (did he touch the checker or just adjust it?).

Plus, with clocks, you have an unambiguous way of determining when your turn ended. If your clock is running, it's still your turn. If your clock is not running, it's your opponent's turn. That alleviates the move checkers around->reach for dice but don't pick them up->premature roll debacle.
