Ten Things I Hate About the BG Experience

Let me posit this another way.
Player A assumes that he will outplay his opponent 100% of the time.
Player A accepts that he will only win 60% of his matches.
Then, let's just say that the "luck" of the game will overcome his skill superiority in 40% of his matches.
You're free to call 80% luck meaningless, or worse. I already stated that my saying was non-scientific and non-logical.
Of course to the the novice player the skillful player will appear to be luckier because he positions himself better for more good rolls, but I doubt if GnuBG or Snowie are talking about this type of "apparent" luck when they attempt their luck calculations for a match.
I've been called lucky numerous times in online matches by decidedly inferior opponents, and I just simply ignore such stupidity. Just last night, on my second night at GammonSite, someone invited me to play, we played a couple of three pointers. I haven't run them through yet but I'm certain I outplayed them, and after winning both matches, I was called a 'cheater' by said opponent. I know this is a nit, but it is annoyingly stupid statements like that turn me off to online backgammon. And even over the board live, I accord every single opponent the utmost respect, but if they start to complain about their bad luck or my good luck their stock goes down in my eyes.
