It's usually right to run with a 54 in these situations, but after White has cracked his six point, his board is usually getting worse. Since he hasn't made his ace point yet, his board is getting better before it gets worse, and White isn't wasting very much in the race. Better to run while Blue has a 4 point board than a 5 point board, but it just seems that the timing is in White's favor on this one. Plus if he gets hit he's virtually dead as there are no Blue blots to shoot at from the bar.

Maybe a mistake, but I'll pay later with 7/2 5/1.
