Also, if directors are concerned about losing attendance due to clocks, consider that even those vehemently opposed to clocks may see things differently if clocks become the norm rather than the exception. I'm not necessarily saying that Art will, but it's a lot easier to say "I will never play in a tournament that uses clocks" when the status quo is to not use clocks.
