That does sound dumb, really... But when have NFL coaches exhibited the slightest bit of risk gain evaluations?

Looks like they gain, or make the Titans lose, 21 yards on the exchange, possibly more if the kicker is able to negotiate the swirling winds... 20% of the time.

On the other hand, they have to gain the 3 feet 80% of the time and have the ball in Titan territory, at least on the 40 yard line. Play some football, man, if you can't make 1 yard against that team you aren't going to win anyway... besides it will run time off the clock.

The Bears had to be big dogs in this game, so owning the ball in Titan territory with 6 minutes to the half... Uhhhhhhhhh, they are doing GREAT.

Let's just punt, we don't want them to tackle us! Geez, good point Neil.
