It as amazing to me how good the pros are at it. There are at least 3 people who can unilaterally fuck it up (snapper, holder, kicker) and a blocker might mess it up also. Yet the success percentage is in the high 90's. In the olden days when a kicking specialist was not an option there was more uncertainty but not it is imbalanced towards the kicking team. When things get imbalanced it could be time for a rules change like baseball did to increase offence when mounds were lowered in the 60's. Is there a change in the rules that is not too radical that would lower the success percentage to say the low 90's? Perhaps something like allowing the defence more options regarding blocking the kick. I don't think players can run up a teammates back for instance.
