As Neil pointed out, paying both Consy semifinal losers means only 7 are available in the quarterfinals of the LC, meaning a late bye.

So it's a lottery in either case.

There are ways to compensate the six who don't get byes, relative to the bye player -- many have worked on this including Butch Meese, Gregg, Neil, and myself.

A lot of BG (as a lot of life) is heavily affected by heritage. Ideas such as holding a lottery for (and paying) 9th place LC or redistributing the loot so that the lucky bye recipient isn't monetarily rewarded for his luck are things that don't tend to get much consideration by the establishment.

Nothing is perfect.
