One thing everyone also sort of agreed on is that it'd be better if it was mandatory than one player requests so it wouldn't feel as if players were being picked on.

The TDs will also tell you not only is it more work to email anyone who has already signed up but that everyone doesn't have email (or they don't have their email address) or check online.

Ahh..Ok..perhaps it is better than for players who bring a clock and want to use it, to have to use it in every match in that T. That way, there's no selective picking on anyone. However, the is only for a year, by my proposal. There simply aren't enough clocks around at most events nor are all players sufficiently experienced to make it clock mandatory right now.

Perhaps announcing that 2010 will clock mandatory right NOW while letting players use clocks if they both agree is a better option since many will want to use a clock now to get experience. Of course, in 2009 directors can aggressively clock any slow players or bottlenecks anyhow.
