Clock play at Bg Live in London 2008

1 factor that I’ve noticed is that a lot of non-experienced clock players do not realise that only 1 pair of dice is used in clock play. To those that are initiated in clock play rules this might seem a really obvious thing. However to those who have played with 2 pairs of dice for years and years – making the link of dice rules changing due to clock play is, well, just not so obvious.

I met a couple of players who got hold of a clock, played with 2 pairs of dice and donked their borrowed clock. Result: arms and hands going everywhere and it was a real turnoff to clock play. As such I think it is important to stress to clock play virgins the “I pair of dice” procedure which has the added carrot of banishing the pre-mature (dice) action.

Pre-mature action is often a problem with virgins and takes a little getting used to to get over.
