OTB I was too concerned about the extra shot number I have immediately if I bear off two checkers and these are enough extra shots that I felt they outweighed my extra gammons. I didn't give enough weight to the fact that if I rip off two checkers I have many checkers off and it is rather hard to lose any how.

Also by playing "safe" I remain at more risk later since I often remain with several checkers on the 2 pt while Chris, if he rolls small stays there with a checker and hopes I blot with an ace, or worse yet, coup classic when I have 3 pieces left.

Thus it's clear to rip two here and by a lot. OTB I rolled 11 after my wimpy error and won the match with a G soon.
