Square root, ...cube root .. mmm fun !!!

You can apply a similar method as with square roots to calculate cube roots.

Make your best guess for the cube root. Divide the original number by the square of your guess. Add that result to double your guess and divide by three. That's now your better guess. Repeat

Cube root of 100? Guess 5. 100/(5*5) = 4 4+(2*5) = 14 14/3 = 4.67 Correct answer: 4.64

Of course, this is probably not any easier than the number crunching you did.
