I fully respect your decision not to cut any slack after what played out with Norm Wiggins two weeks prior.

Pat absolutely made the right decision to rule in your favor. Once he paused the clock, that is an implicit pass.

He probably should have ruled in your favor for the opening 6 as well, but your best defense in the future would be to explicitly state, in front of witnesses, that you had rolled an opening 6 before going off to drain the vein.

IIRC Pat modifies the ABT rules for his local tournaments to strike the clause which allows an appeals committee. I don't know if he has that same modification for his ABT events. It sounds like this happened at the recent ABT event in LA? If it did and he did not modify the standard ABT rules then a committee should have been convened, and I'd be surprised if it ruled against you.
