Effective Pip Count with stragglers

I just figured out I didn't understand how to use EPC numbers.

I think I get it now. You start from the number of rolls left for the doubler and substract 3. What you find is the maximum affordable difference in EPC for the trailer to have a take. Within 1 point from that we have a redouble, within 2 point we have a double.

POSITION 1 will then be: 4 roll position, maximum EPC difference is 4-3=1, EPC difference is 0.5 --> R/T

POSITION 2 will then be: 5 roll position, maximum EPC difference is 5-3=2, EPC difference is 1.5 --> R/T

Am I finally right?
