I have a guess. Suppose that there was one game in one of the rollouts where the cube happened to reach an astronomical level. That one game could have an exagerrated effect on the outcome. One way to check is to watch the rollout and see if there is a sudden big jump in the cubeful equity. It would be nice if you could get a breakdown of how games ended regarding cube value, a pass or played out, and level of win. Is that possible with one of the programs, I think I've seen something like that. Also for variance reduction a list of the final variance reduced values given to each game. Regarding the possibility of a huge cube skewing the results someone ( I think Micheal Zehr, or maybe Douglas Zare, or maybe Marty Storer) suggested that on a cube turn gnu plays that game game twice at the original cube level instead of once at the doubled level. That would prevent that possibility
