Great questions:

1) Little to no travel, so battery life is more geared around a built-in UPS (frequent power failures). Any travel is work based, and thus my work laptop is my travel buddy. 2) "General Purpose" sounds about right: I have 15 year bias for a laptop over a desktop, and would like the platform to be mobile. 3) Fan durability (roll-outs) is a factor.
