All things equal, there's something to be said for making the unconventional play that nobody is quite sure how to correctly respond to.

Very wrong. You're making a .06 error (52$, as Gus did) in hopes your opponent will maybe make a .03 error in their response? lol I'll swallow the argument that overall it can complicate the game allowing for you to make up for an outplay your opponent, but on the immediate sequence it makes no sense whatsoever.
