Backgammon course

To add color, consider using some of the anecdotes from Lewis Deyong's Playboy's Book of Backgammon which I think is from 1977.

That book would provide good companion reading for any discussion of the 1970s.

Material like that, presented in an entertaining way, might get your students permanently hooked. Deyong has great stories that feature things like:

"The newcomer was Computer, another backgammon champion with a sad tale to tell." (Computer = Paul Magriel)

"Please I take now the box alone." (Some Middle East sultan, prince, princeling, or similar)
