Final thoughts (if you aren't already sick of this topic)

The rules prohibit outside aides. I don't think it takes much of a stretch to realize that discussing future possibilities of a match in progress during a break (5 minute break OR dinner break) is counter to what the rules writers intended. Looking at a match equity table is obviously included in my contention.
I don't like nor even find compelling this argument about "if it can't be enforced it shouldn't be required". For example, it would be easy for me and a very smart but dishonest friend to design a simple signalling scheme where s/he would send me information during a match on doubling actions. It wouldn't be hard for that scheme to be virtually undetectable. So, we should allow it??
Ethics, integrity, honor -- call it what you like -- are a part of backgammon. We don't (like baseball or major league tennis) have referees to watch our every move. We must self-police and by that I emphasize 'self'.
