I'm with Gregg. If you can't get 1/2 yard you don't deserve to be going to the AFC Championship. Further, if you don't make it, you have the defensive opportunity to stop them and get the ball back in good field position.

I think it is a no-brainer to go for it; to kick the field goal only reinforces all the lack of intelligence stereotypes associated with everyone in pro football -- maybe that is why it is so appealing to the masses.
