that would work for me! I am awed by the always growing volume of BG material that should be memorized in order to make the "better" decisions on plays (GS, GO, DMP, matchplay, moneyplay...), responses, match-equity, take-points, Gammon Price, etc etc etc. For us older folks, this becomes harder and harder to do.

As a director, allowing the players to have one 8-1/2x11 page of notes, would not be hard to enforce and definitely enhance the speed at which matches would move along. Great thought Richard, although I suspect that getting the directors and players to buy-into this exception to the "no written materials" Rules of Backgammon play would be a steep hill to climb. As with chess, its supposed to be a cerebral game where study and experience are the tools that must be used to excel and "crib" notes defeats that paradigm.
