haven't decided it yet. But I am leaning that way. OPTIONAL works, assuming that enough players have their own clocks, versus CLOCKS MANDATORY when there may not be enough clocks (player's + director's).

The fact that Charlotte was successful with the optional version is a good sign that it (apparently) did not keep players from attending. But, of course, one event does not provide enough "statistical significance" to confirm.
