I've already given thought to being an American and maintaining the server. That is quite easily sidestepped. One of my friends, one who actually helped me with setting up this site and has helped on other poker/blackjack projects, is Canadian. After we finish the current project we're (he more than me lol) is doing, we might try to tackle it. We've poked around a little but nothing serious. The server would be outside the country and it would be his name that's associated with everything.

Like I said, haven't looked into the rakes that hard, we'll figure out the best possible solution to get it done. I'm not looking to get rich by running a bg server, make a little money for the people involved (because the other ppl will be doing it for the money, he doesn't even play backgammon!) but I probably wouldn't even do the project if I could fix 75 - 90% of the problems current backgammon servers have. [high rakes & cheats being #1 & #1 on the list]
