The advantage comes when there is a problem with how Jacoby is handled by gnu-BG. I don't mean it doesn't understand Jacoby. What I do mean is that you think you've turned Jacoby off but that doesn't actually happen. My fuzzy memory tells me this issue came up on one of the forums at one time.

I guess your question deals with whether or not this concern is worth the tradeoff of the bot not knowing how to handle the cube at a 0-0/63 score.
