Resurrected laptop with Ubuntu

I'm not familiar with this problem. I don't have Vista on any of my computers. Not my area of expertise (not even close), either, but it could be the way the Win versions are built from LINUX (Wine and its relatives).

There have been some here who defended Vista, possibly DC-Ohio -- don't remember for sure who it was. Maybe that person(s) can tell you how s/he got GNU-bg running on this OS.

And the 'legitimacy' of Vista is something that could be debated here, without resolution. Since I've never experienced it, though, I'd just be spreading rumors and hearsay to get involved -- not something I care to do. I have read that MS is already alpha- (maybe beta-) testing its replacement. Possibly in a year Vista will be buried with its cousin Win-ME.
