Whatever one's opinion of MS (and of course that runs the spectrum if you ask enough people), IMO you can be sure that they are aware of the poor reception for Vista. Given that and their motivation to maintain market share, I figure the next OS is going to be a clear improvement, just like XP was (seemingly considerably) better than ME.
