I read a recent post that states "all TDs rake 25% from the main".

Maybe you're referring to this, from Chuck:

Open is $430 entry plus $70 registration. That's a 14% rake in any competent person's thinking. (Other mains are 25% rake.) Even though other Ty's claim similarly, don't try to bullshit us, please.

I think what he meant by "other mains" was the other divisions (i.e., Intermediate and Beginners) of the main event at the US Open. "Other Ty's claim similarly" refers to the practice of having a separate registration fee and then claiming 100% return of entry fees, instead of explicitly stating the rake.

I've never seen an American tournament that raked more than 20%, except maybe from the novice division.
