20% discount DOES reduce prize pool

I did receive an email this evening from Chiva who gave me the same information as in Greg's previous post, ie.
champions: entry + registration. $500 - 20% = $400 out of which $330 go towards the prize pool
intermediate: entry + registration : $200 -20% = $160 our of which $110 go towards the prize pool
beginners: entry + registration: $60 - 20% = $50 outof which $40 go towards the prize pool
The 20% discount is a method that Chiva is using to be able to sell 200 room nites. At less than 200, the fees for the playing room increase substantially.
i did some research on other tournaments that the WBA has organized, and found that the pre-discount rake percentages to be comparable for the US Open and Portugal Open. Here's the comparison:
US Open Portugal Open
Championship $70/$500 = 14% 100euro/600euro = 16.67%
Intermediate $50/$200 = 25% 75euro/300euro = 25%
Consulting Doubles - 85% return 80% return
Perhaps someone with more information could share it for other tournaments.
I hope this helps clarify the issue.
