US Open Revisted (already)

I don't believe any other tournament, anywhere, has been given the scrutiny this one has here on this forum. I think it unfair and undeserved. Should all decide to scrutize every tournament in such a fashion I'm sure we'd see objections of all sorts to many of them.
If one doesn't wish to attend, so be it. But why attempt to influence others' decisions with your own evaluation?
Scrutinized? Yes. Unfair and undeserved? No.
This is a new event, the information has only become available recently and was presented in a way that was not obvious to me (and others) and in many cases looks or is different from usual ABT fare. I don't see anyone lobbying against the event (which may have been done in some historical cases on this forum).
Things I like: it is a new event, run by Chiva & other well known US directors, clocks are your/opp's preference, the rake really isn't that high if you stay in the hotel for 3 nights, 20% discount will be given to players sharing a room, the doubles starts on Sunday, all good things.
Things I don't like:
1) no discount rate on Wednesday?
2) No side pools? Are there really no side pools or are they just not listed?
3) Since this is a multi-day tournament that's not on a holiday weekend I don't know what attendance will be like. Are rebuys permitted here? I get the feeling that they're not.
4) The hotel is pretty expensive for an ABT venue, the most expensive on the ABT I believe.I'm considering whether to go or not but these are sticking points for me in a tournament that looks like it could be a pretty expensive weekend for me. I don't mind paying the cost but I'd like to know what exactly I'm getting.
