Sure, not a problem.
It just seems too many have been less than gracious, cynical, skeptical, suspicious, etc. with this first time effort of an established European tournament director to put on a tourney in the States. Sure, there are some new, unique features in the finances; however, as eloquently addressed by Richard, they are to the benefit of the players -- Chiva could have just used a traditional formula with high enough fees to ensure he not take a loss.
My only point is I've never seen such scrutiny of tournaments here in the States -- new or established tourneys, ran by rookie or established directors, whether in NYC or Casper, Wyoming (God forbid there ever is one there).
If the tourney, like any other tourney, doesn't go off smoothly, has problems, proves itself suspicious or fraudulent in some way, etc. then, by all means, I suspect it will suffer the consequences by reduction in attendance the following year and, unless it cleans it act up, ultimately fail. We've had then come and go in the past, for various reasons. But I've never before seen one indicted and convicted prior to its first event.
