Do Tournament Directors make too much money?

Seeing tabulations from Patrick and Linda might be informative; however, I think it might open a real can of worms.
Every director runs his/her tourney differently. Expenses vary greatly with locale, time of year, etc. Attendance varies across different tourneys and from year to year. Some directors may look to make a few bucks and some perhaps are providing, in their minds, a non-profit service to the backgammon community.
But, start opening up some of the books and people are going to want everyone to open up the books. And then the sniping starts. If so-and-so only makes $1,000 on his/her tourney, why do you feel justified in making $5,000 on your tourney? (if anyone does) You should have gotten a better deal on this like so-and-so did at their tourney. Why did you pay this for that? We've seen in just the last few days, on this one little forum, how picky it can get.
Bad idea. Just my opinion.
