Forfeiture / flag falling

IMHO it's also the player's responsibility to call a flag.

I'm pretty sure everyone here who is advocating clock usage is doing so for the reason that it improves the flow of a tournament, in some cases drastically so.

So when a player's clock expires, if the rules state that the match ends there (with a forfeit) then it is in everyone's interest for the match to end at that time. If a sound or light helps clarify the point, all the better.

I can believe it isn't this way in chess -- they make their rules for their reasons, not ours.
